Dr. Zwingelberg (Cassy’s Dad) and I made it home late Sunday Night. I was sad to leave my recovering wife (she is with her mother), but I was excited to see my kids. After about an hour, I was ready to head back and hang out with my wife again…
My mother has been watching our children while Cassy and I have been gone, and for that we can’t explain how thankful we are. This hasn’t been the easiest process to go through, but to know that your children will be at home; being loved on by someone they love being around, has been an amazing comfort. Thanks Mom!!!
Ok, what is going on now? Dr. Z and I will meet Cassy and her Mother at Emory on Wednesday to find out and discuss the test results with the Oncologist (11:00am). We will then head back to Panama City, where Cassy will continue to recover. The next steps will depend on the test results (we will update you when we have them).
As far as Cassy’s recovery goes: She is one tuff cookie. Cassy has been walking around and has totally weaned herself off pain medication (not even taking Tylenol). She is eager to get back home and hug on the kids, which have not stopped asking about her since I arrived home.
Once she walks through that front door, the Scribner house will be complete and happy again.
Thank you for all your prayers. We have felt and appreciated them.
Josh
Josh...
ReplyDeleteThank you for this update today.
I agree...you have two amazingly wonderful women in your life.
Prayers continue for you and the entire family...God attends not only to the "big stuff" but also the minor details that tend to get lost in the midst of uncertainty and that has been evident as I read Beverly's FB posts...He is bringing His people to minister to your family's needs...I praise Him for people that are obedient to His promptings on their hearts and offer assitance to you.
May the next few days be filled with good news and the joyous reunion between mother/child...how sweet!!
Asking for blessings and favor to be poured out in abundance on the Scribner/Zwingelberg/Shelley families!!
Debbie
Thanks for the update Josh! I know you all must be tapped out...keeping us current is probably the last thing on your mind, but you must know it means the world to me! I'm so happy that your kids have been so well attended to and that you two have had such a support group in Georgia...isn't it amazing to see God's plan and his providence revealed through the small things. His attention to detail is perfect and one of His most precious gifts to us in times of uncertainty. Please pass along that I said, "You rock, chica!!!" She is so unbelieveable! Cas has always been one tough and determined broad, so the fact that she's been over-achieving is no surprise! My prayers for her have been that the grace and strength and peace that God has clearly blessed her with through this would continue and would be more than enough to carry her during her recovery and whatever else is to come. My heart will be with you tomorrow...I am anxious to hear what is to come! My prayers are for positive news, but also that you'll feel God's peace and presence every step of the way. I love you all! Safe travels tomorrow for all of you!
ReplyDeleteI am encouraged by Cassy's strength and resolve. She is one tough momma! She has been on my heart and have continually kept her in my prayers. I have lots of friends here in Boise praying for her, too. I love you both so very much!
